2022 saw a very momentous occasion for the British Monarchy. Queen Elizabeth II became the first ever British Monarch to reach a Platinum Jubilee, after 70 years on the throne.
To celebrate this event, a special platinum sovereign was issued. We are lucky enough to have in our possession one of these coins. Featuring the 2022 effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf on the obverse, the reverse shows a dual portrait "Then and Now" of the reign of Her Majesty.
Issued in Gibraltar, the coin is made of pure platinum and weights approximately 7.98 grams. Only 1000 coins were issued, and this coin is number 284 of the 1000.
Beautifully boxed with all original paperwork, the proof coin is safely stored in a capsule, untouched and uncirculated. The box is marked "Struck to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II".
